The Weather Outside was Frightful...

January 2018 | Blog

This time of year is not without its challenges, but our crew and subcontractors persevered during the week between Christmas and New Year’s as temperatures dropped, snow accumulated, generators were employed and roads left us a little wide-eyed. Below are a few updates on some custom homes – one in SunUp Bay and the other in Harrison – and a brand new commercial project right here in Coeur d’Alene.

We’re pleased and honored to share the news that Drs. Wayne and Cindy Ellenbecker (Ellenbecker Eye Clinic) have chosen Edwards Smith Construction to build their new eye clinic in the Riverstone Development. With 2018 on the horizon, an entrance and concrete walls were poured. Then, the walls were blanketed to protect them from the freezing temps.

Generators kept the momentum going on a custom home in Harrison, ID when power was lost Dec. 29. On the checklist of accomplishments for the holiday week: siding nearly complete, tongue and groove at the entry ceiling, tile floors on the powder, guest and shared bath floors, and installation of some cabinets and interior doors and trim. Excitement is building as exterior and interior finishes start to take shape.

And last but not least, it was just a few weeks ago that excavation was on the docket for this new home at Rock Creek Ridge in SunUp Bay. As New Year’s approached, our crew was busy building footing forms. Some holiday snow meant a little TLC was in order – forms were built in one area then covered up before moving on to the next area.
