Liberty Lake Residence

The beauty of this contemporary gem on the shore of Liberty Lake in Washington illustrates that with proper adaptation of simple, but strong materials, you can achieve a low maintenance and durable home. Keeping in mind the clients’ desire to live all four seasons as close to the lake as possible, Sayler Owens Kerr Design Studio (formerly Jon R Sayler Architect) designed the living room and kitchen on the lowest level to allow daily interaction with the water. We were challenged to ensure a great deal of precision during construction, the lot nestled as it was between two existing homes on a steep slope.

Among the standout features are a floating bridge to the front door, floating decks off each level, a floating stair tower with large windows to enjoy the spectacular lake view and three study cubicles off the kitchen for the owners’ children.
