Pita Pit USA, Inc.

When the national headquarters of Pita Pit USA was dealing with the aftermath of a serious fire, they turned to Edwards Smith Construction to remodel the historic structure built in downtown Coeur d’Alene in 1892. In addition to the damage sustained from the fire and smoke, years of aging, sagging and countless interior revisions resulted in an extensive repair and restoration project.

The owners chose to eliminate most interior, non-structural walls for a more open feel and expose the original exterior brick and wooden ceiling joists. Standout features in this turn-of-the-century industrial space include steel jambs around the interior glass dividers, custom fabricated, raw metal railings and a steel-wrapped wall in the corridor. The result – a perfect combination of old and new.
